AS LONG AS HATE RULES OVER US

As long as hate rules over us our own hate for each other will not only continue to increase, but in the end it will lead to our own destruction.


In the midst of messages of love and forgiveness at Charlie kirk’s funeral yesterday, our leader could not mask what his heart is filled with: “Hate,” repeatedly saying those very words about his feelings towards those he considers to be his enemies.  


Yet, it will again be overlooked by all the Christians who put him into power and who will once again write this off as him just being humorous.  Even when most Christians know and have, themselves, recited Jesus’ own words in Luke 6:45 “A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of,” they still seem unwilling, or unable to admit that these words have always applied to our leader.


While Charlie Kirk’s own widow expressed forgiveness, our leader instead judged and condemned others clearly unable to utter the word “forgiveness.” Again, Jesus’ own words, Matthew 6:14-15 “For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.  But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.”


In Jesus’ we are not given the option for choosing to disregard his own words, even when they conflict with Thomas Jefferson’s words written in the Declaration of Independence that “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”


The meaning of each of these, means something entirely different when understood through the lens that is focused on Jesus alone. According to the New Testament, Life is through Jesus, Liberty is freedom from sin and the pursuit of happiness is an eternal pursuit not a temporal one. All of which only God can provide and guarantee and not a/the state.


Jesus’ words in the “Sermon on the Mount still apply to us today, and if possible, even more so.  Matthew 5:38-48 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth. But I tell you, do not resist and evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also. And if anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, hand over your coat as well. If anyone forces you to go one mile, go with them two miles. Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you. You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy. But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.”
